There's lots of things going on throughout the week and we'd love for you to join us where you can.

Check out the term card or calendar below for specific dates and, unless specified, all activities take place at the St Peter's Centre.

The rest of this page gives an overview of all that goes on, but we don't want to bombard you with information so if there's anything else you'd like to know please do get in touch.

Our calendar

If you're new or just getting a sense of whether you want to call St Peter's church home then we have a few things you may want to check out in particular. However, if you're new please don't be restricted to just these events - you are certainly welcome to join in everything else relevant that's going on.

Intro lunches

1pm Sundays once a term

Intro lunches are an opportunity for those who are new to St Peter’s to get to know us a bit better, and for us to get know you! They are a great chance to hear more about our vibe and vision, and chat about how you might want to get involved. If you are new to St Peter’s you should hopefully be invited to the next lunch, but do get in touch if you want to know when it will be happening or if you need anything else.

10 week course on Wednesdays (once a year)

Alpha is a series of sessions exploring the Christian faith, which everyone is welcome to attend. Each week involves good food, a talk and then chatting with others who have come, with opportunities to ask questions and share your point of view. Alpha is run all over the world, and you can find out more about it here. If you are interested in attending then do get in touch.

Community Events

Seasonal events throughout the year

We love community events, whether it’s running  them ourselves or taking part in what others are organising. Easter, the summer holidays and Christmas are particularly busy times for us – so keep an eye out for upcoming events on our term card at the top of this page. You can read more about past events, including the popular and long-running ‘God Loves Battersea', on our blog.

Sunday Celebrations

10.30am every Sunday

2018-11-04 11.50.48.jpg

Everyone is welcome to our Sunday celebration. The time is open and informal, with a strong emphasis on stories of what God is doing today in our lives, Biblical teaching and worshipping God together. We celebrate Holy Communion fortnightly and every couple of months we have all ages in together. We aim to finish around 12.15pm with tea and coffee afterwards.  Children and youth provision on Sunday mornings is listed in their sections below.

The River

7.30pm fortnightly Sundays in the term

The River is an evening of worship; coming together to be immersed in His presence.

The heart behind the reason we meet is from John 7:37-39

On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.” By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive. Up to that time the Spirit had not been given, since Jesus had not yet been glorified.

‘Anyone’ - lament, joy, invitation, hearts & minds

‘Thirsty’ - Repentance, intention, proactive, surrender

‘Come to me & drink’ - Scripture, prayer, worship, presence

‘Living water (Spirit)’ - Supernatural, prophecy, hearing God’s voice, freedom, risk, promise

‘Flow from within’ - Send revival start with me, mission, calling

Check out the term card for specific dates.

Community Groups

7.30pm Tuesdays & Wednesdays in homes

Our weeknight community groups (CGs) are a vital space for discipleship and developing community – whether this is over good food, through worshipping and studying the Bible together, or through sharing and praying for each other. There are currently six CGs meeting in people’s homes across the Winstanley Estate and further afield, and all members of the church family are encouraged to be part of a CG. Do get in touch to know more.

Prayer & Pastries every Thursday 7.30am

InnerSeed has been meeting weekly for many years now and keeps the St Peter's intercessory flame burning, in and out of season. We believe that intercession is agreeing with heaven and releasing its reality into our world. Join us for half an hour of prayer followed by freshly-baked pastries.

Throughout the year we also have times of 24 hour prayer and at the Centre there is a prayer room that is open for church family to use for personal prayer throughout the week. Contact us here to book a place.

Connecting with our community in prayer Wednesday  9.30am

We are a church that believes in the power of prayer. We believe that God has called us to be agents of His blessings and healing power and so we love to go out into the community on Wednesday mornings and offer prayer to those we meet.

While it can feel a little intimidating going out for the first time we've constantly been amazed by peoples' openness to the offer of prayer and we love to come back with stories of people encountering God, being healed and super blessed. You can read about some highlights in our blog here. Contact us here if you'd like to know more or just turn up at the church at 9.30am to join us - no experience necessary!

Night Shelter

Tuesday nights from 8pm (Nov - Apr)

Over the winter St Peter’s will host a night shelter, as part of Glass Door’s Wandsworth circuit of shelters. The shelter, run by Glass Door and volunteers from St Peter’s, provides a warm, safe and welcoming space for around 15 guests, who also receive a hot evening meal and a cooked breakfast in the morning. Glass Door help guests find work, housing and more and over the past 12 months they have helped 122 people into stable accommodation.

For 0-2s 10.30am every Sunday

Pebbles is our Sunday morning group for 0-2s - where children are engaged and encouraged in their journey of faith. Meeting every Sunday morning, we enjoy lots of fun interactive play, worshipping and learning about being friends with God. With fun songs, age appropriate toys, snacks and the opportunity to be prayed for, Pebbles is the place for under 3s to creatively engage with God.

If you're a parent or carer, go here for information on the adult service happening at the same time.

Rock Solid

For 3-9s 10.30am every Sunday

Rock Solid

Rock Solid is the place for children aged 3-9 to meet with God every Sunday morning. We do this through times of worship, discovering how the Bible is relevant for our lives today and what following Jesus is all about. We have fun playing games, and sharing during our snack time. Everyone gets the opportunity to exercise their creativity through craft times.  Most importantly, we make space to connect with God personally through times of stillness and prayer ministry.

If you're a parent or carer, go here for information on the adult service happening at the same time.

Little Chefs [cooking]

For under 5s Thursdays 12pm term time

Little Chefs

Little Chefs is a free lunchtime cooking club for under 5s with their parents or carers. Every Thursday, we don our chefs hats and chequered aprons and enjoy creating a tasty, healthy meal together. Particular past highlights have included toad-in-the-hole, lasagna and hot cross buns at Easter.

As well as learning cooking skills we also have fun playing party games, singing lively songs, enjoying soft play and exploring Bible stories in creative ways together.

You can check out some of our favourite recipes on the Little Chefs blog

Youth Sundays

For 10-16s 10.30am Sundays fortnightly

Youth Sunday

Youth Sundays is our Sunday morning group for young people. We love socialising over breakfast, board games and PS4. It’s a relaxed environment where we get to know each other and the Bible better, hear inspiring stories from people in our church family and further afield, and ask big questions - we’ve adopted #questioneverything as our unofficial tagline! Above all we want to discover more of the life-changing love of Christ together.

If you're a parent or carer, go here for information on the adult service happening at the same time.

Youth Fridays

For 11-18s 7-9pm every Friday

youth fridays.PNG

Our Friday night youth club has a long history on the Winstanley Estate. It’s a very chilled out vibe, with most weeks involving pizza, pool, table football, PlayStation and table tennis. Sometimes we have weeks where we get stuck in to a particular activity, for example skate nights, spray painting, cooking, ninja games or designing comic art.

We are also planning some trips (both inside and outside of London) which we’re really excited about.

Youth Climbing

For 10-16s Mondays 5pm

Youth Climbing

Climbing is our newest activity for youth, partly funded by a grant from the local community. We meet at the Climbing Hangar in Parsons Green, which has world class climbing facilities. It’s a great opportunity for young women and men to have fun, learn new skills and challenge themselves in a safe and exciting environment.

Due to the popularity of this activity we need to know beforehand if you would like to come along to a session, so do let us know.

Men's group

Ad hoc gatherings throughout the year

IMG_5727 (1).JPG

Our men’s events aim to provide opportunities for men to connect with each other, as well as fun and interesting activities for them to invite friends to. Regular features include our bargain curry nights, our push-to-the-limits fitness sessions and our dads & kids mornings which have in the past involved trips to our local parks.

We like to keep things pretty low-key and all men are welcome, so if you want to be kept up-to-date with what is going on then just let us know.

Life (with childcare)

10.30am Tuesdays in term time

Life (Living In Freedom Everyday) is our midweek group for women of any age and stage. It's an opportunity to relax, to enjoy coffee and chat, and to grow in faith together. We have a very informal atmosphere, with toys and activities available for children.

Each week we get to know each other over refreshments and explore topics based around our identities as women. We enjoy relating everyday challenges to God’s word and praying for each other.

Women's events

Gatherings throughout the year

As well as our daytime women's group, Life, we also run other events that aim to develop meaningful relationships between women in our church and community, provide an opportunity to encourage each other in faith and create a space to invite friends into. Check out the term card for more info and if you would like to be kept up-to-date with events that we are holding then let us know. Past events have included craft mornings, brunches, attending conferences and weekends away.
