We are firm believers that church is about people, not buildings. Having said that, our buildings are the place we call home and a resource for our church family and community. Keep reading for more information.
Our current home
We will be moving into our new building on 4 November, but in the meantime we are blessed to be in St Peter's Centre, at the edge of the Winstanley Estate by York Gardens. The main hall provides a flexible space for our Sunday morning celebrations, and for various midweek groups to meet. The Centre also contains the church office and a prayer room which church family are welcome to use during the week (as well as a nursery run by the Banana Moon franchise).
For information on how to find us go here.
Interested in hiring our building?
Although we are not yet hiring out our new building, the Centre is available to hire when not being used by the church family. Our main hall can seat approximately 80 people theatre style, and can also be partitioned into three smaller rooms. Use of our small kitchen can also be included.
A plan of the space can be found here - the building has disabled access and toilet facilities. If you are interested in hiring the hall then please get in touch, letting us know what your event is and its date and timings.
We're getting a new building
It has been nearly 15 years in the making, and finally in 2018 the new St Peter's Church building will be ready, alongside a residential block (made up of a mix of private and housing association homes). As you can see from the computer-generated image, it won't look like a traditional church building, but instead it will be a modern, stunning and vibrant piece of architecture.
We're in the process of creating a page about all the design elements of the new building, so watch this space for that...
We have a daycare nursery using our space
Banana Moon is a nationwide day nursery who use one wing of the Centre, with its fantastic garden, during the week.
The nursery looks after children from six months to five years. They focus on creating a loving and caring environment for children, with a strong focus on the views of parents.
They were recently awarded a 'good' Ofsted rating. For more information go to the Banana Moon website.
